The master programme contains five Professional Competencies with its related learning goals that are covered by the programme/courses (see Curriculum matrix below), in order to ensure that the students reach the required Master end level.

Learning Pathways are: Integrative (Int), Industry (Ind), Conceptual (Con), Skills and Research (SkR) and Personal Development (which is in Mentor and Tutor Guidance)
Curriculum content has been highly valued through students over the years, as can be seen in the table below, based on the National Student Satisfaction Survey (NSE).

2023 | 2022 | 2021 | National HBO Average 2023 | |

4.29 | 4.23 | 4.45 | The content quality of study materials | 3.60 |

NSE Student Survey, 5-point scale
“The MBA added significant value to my interactions with industry professionals and Alumni members. Firstly, it equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of business concepts and practices, which allowed me to engage in more meaningful and informed discussions with industry professionals. The course material was comprehensive and up to date, reflecting the latest industry trends and insights. The class slides and handouts were well-organised and easy to understand, effectively complementing the lectures and discussions.” Prateek Rawat 2021
The programme ensures that the curriculum contents reflect the master’s level of research skills (NLQF level 7) by integrating consecutive applied research courses before the final Thesis project.
Relating the course learning outcomes (goals) to the Dee Fink taxonomy the Body of Knowledge and Skills gives a clear insight into the way in which the content of the MBA balances knowledge, skills and human dimensions in the courses, as well as reaching a corresponding master's level of learning outcomes.
The MBA curriculum has been reinforced on the topic of Digital Technology and its impact on transforming hospitality businesses.
First a specialist with senior professional experience on the topic of digital transformation in (service) business environments and with a relevant certified educational base was looked for to reconstruct the course based on the original learning goals. The updated course added topics such as:
Digital technology strategy and business models
Digital technology and redefining service excellence
The value of a data driven enterprise
The future of privacy, data, risk and cybersecurity
Agile development & devOps
Insights and knowledge of digital technology from a business perspective
At the end of 2018, it was clear to the MBA team that content wise the programme needed to intensify the Digital Technology course due to the enormous digital challenges in all business environments.
“The course content was well-explained in detail and well-structured over the various study blocks. It provided great insight and helped in gaining a thorough understanding of both theoretical concepts and practical implications.” Vignesh Hariharan 2018
The second change made was to integrate a new 3 EC course in the programme which was named High Tech High Touch. By intensifying the content of the Digital Technology course and adding a new course, the area of technology has gained the right weight and importance in the MBA curriculum.
Overall, students highly appreciate the content of the programme:
